Early Academic Outreach Program

Program Information

The Early Academic Outreach Program (EAOP) was created in 1976 by the University in
response to the State legislature’s recommendation to increase the number of educationally
and economically disadvantaged students who are competitively eligible for
postsecondary education.

Our Commitment

EAOP is committed to helping students achieve their educational goals, whether it is to attend a University of California (UC), California State University (CSU), private university, California Community College (CCC) campus, or out-of-state university.

Our History

EAOP is one of the State’s most successful pre-collegiate student academic preparation programs. Statewide, EAOP works with more than 80,000 students in 542 middle and high schools, turning dreams of college into reality

How we Achieve our Mission

To achieve the EAOP mission, Regional Outreach Coordinators (ROCs), along with UC Davis undergraduates, provide academic advising and enrichment services, specifically about college admission, enrollment, and financial aid requirements. The program works in collaboration with campus and area personnel to provide academic services and support to students, families, schools, and communities. EAOP at UC Davis serves over 3,000 students in thirteen school districts.
