Parental Involvement
Parental involvement in the student's academic career is an imporant component to success. For this reason, EAOP has multiple activities in which parents and guardians can get involved. These activities set an environment in which parents and guardians can mutually share information to EAOP and create a support network for each other. EAOP strongly recommend parents/guardians to actively participate in meetings and workshops.
ACT Explore/Plan Test Results Meeting
EAOP participants take the ACT Explore/Plan as early as 8th grade. Every year, full-service participants are required to take the grade-appropriate assessment. For a description of benefits for your student on taking the ACT Plan, click here. For the publicationin Spanish, click here.
The ACT Test results meeting is designed to provide parents and guardians with the information necessary to evaluate their student's performance and understand the test results. In addition, the meeting provides parents with additional resources that can assist in improving their student's performance and academic aptitude.
Additionally, parents/guardians receive a report on student's mastery of the subjects necessary for academic success. Parents/guardians also receive an inventory of the student's possible career interests.
Students who have taken the ACT Explore or ACT Plan Test during the Winter of 2004 are invited to attend the meeting. Sessions will begin promptly at 6:00 PM. Due to budgetary constraints, test results will not be mailed to residence.
