Early Academic Outreach Program

Test Preparation

In order for EAOP staff to effectively guide students on available resources, participants are required to complete examinations that assess the student's proficiency in core academic subjects. The results from these assessments are used by EAOP to design academic enrichment programs that will enhance the student's skill and mastery of the required college preparatory courses.

The ACT Explore is a comprehensive 8th and 9th grade assessment program developed by the American College Test (ACT) to provide information on student's level of preparation in English, mathematics, reading, and science. Career and educational goal assessments are given to the student and parents for future planning.

The ACT Plan is a comprehensive 10th grade assessment which is composed of four sections: English, mathematics, reading, and science reasoning. The ACT Plan is a sequenced assessment test following the ACT Explore. Even if the student has not taken the ACT Explore, EAOP encourages the student to take the ACT Plan. Career and educational goal assessments are given to the student and parent for future planning.
