Student Outreach
Student Outreach
Student Outreach serves 7th–12th grade students across Sacramento with a focus on student engagement, retention, and increasing college-going rates among marginalized students by exposing them to higher education opportunities through culturally responsive practices. Our team reflects the diversity of the students we serve, and each staff member brings unique perspectives shaped by their backgrounds and educational experiences to create meaningful and engaging outreach. We continually improve our services by actively recruiting students, seeking feedback, and innovating ways to stay connected through tools such as our senior database, newsletters, and consistent communication. We prioritize access to college campuses by offering two annual field trips, recognizing the importance of in-person exposure for students who may not otherwise have these opportunities. Over the past two academic years, we have served more than 2,000 non-EAOP students, expanding EAOP’s presence in Sacramento beyond the traditional cohort model. Through in-school workshops and campus visits, our team works behind the scenes to build community and create impactful experiences, encouraging families to take advantage of EAOP resources because meaningful connections and positive outcomes can result from participation.
